Performance: Ravi Teja appears in a new avatar in the film. His role is refreshingly different from his routine action and comedy. Allari Naresh comes up with a very impressive performance. His performance in particular after he loses his sense of hearing is simply superb. Siva Balaji is good. Priyamani appears in a completely deglmaourized role. Roja makes a comeback after a long time and she does justice to her role. Newcomer Abhinaya is impressive in her brief role. Mukesh Rushi is okay. Chandramohan, Ahuthi Prasad, Rao Ramesh and others do a neat job.

Technical Departments: The movie has got a good storyline, and direction. But, The screenplay should have been better. U tend to get bored here and there. Music is apt. Cinematography and editing are crisp.

Conclusion: Sambho Siva Sambho is a different kind of film and it will appeal to all those who love novelty and experimentation in films. It is an action packed entertainer from start to finish. The story is good and the screenplay interesting and racy. The music adds to the mood of the film and the title song ‘Sambho Siva Sambho…’ is very good.

Genre: Comedy/Romance
Banner: 14 Reels entertainment
Release date: 14 January 2010

“Namo Venkatesha”, which was promised to carry loads and loads of entertainment has released. Expectation reached the peak. The movie starring Venkatesh, Trisha under the direction of Srinu Vaitla was one of the most talked movie, before its release. Whether the people continue to talk about the movie or not after the movie released, that has to be watched.

Story: Venkata Ramana (Venkatesh) is a ventriloquist by profession and performs for a association in Europe. He meets Paris Prasad (Brahmanandam) and Pooja (Trisha). Pooja is niece of Paris Prasad. Venkata Ramana falls in love with Pooja. Paris Prasad comes to know about this, and starts making Venkata Ramana a fool by telling him that Pooja loves him too. Pooja is the daughter of a rayalaseema factionist and she returns back to her village to get married to a person whom she doesn’t like. The rest of the story is, how did Venakta Ramana solve the problem and wins Pooja.

Performances: Venkatesh is at his best. It his one of his favourite genres and he acts superb. Trisha is good and she performs well in emotional scenes. Brahmanandam, as usual is very hilarious. Ali and M.S. Narayan impress. While Subbaraju, Jayaprakash Reddy, Dharmavarupu Subramanya, Kota Srinivas Rao and Telangana Shakunthala have done their job neat.

Technical Departments: While story has nothing new to it. It gives u a lot of déjà Vu. But, the direction and screenplay of Srinu Vaitla is good. He managed to get his characters to evoke laughter at the right moments and in right doses. U will never feel bored while watching this movie. Music by Devi is just average. Cinematography and Choreography are superb. The production values are top notch. It is nice to see many telugu movies nowadays are coming up with good cinematography and production values. But they should also concentrate on getting fresh stories.

Conclusion: First half is very entertaining and has not got much story in it. While the second half has some story, but bit less on entertainment quotient because of lengthy and predictable story line. But, this movie has got enough qualities to become a box office hit.

Blu-ray enters into tollywood

It seems that the tollywood producers are leaving no stone unturned to market their movie till the end. We are talking about the Blu-ray disc business. This is said to be the new area in which the producers are looking out for. The video and audio clarity in these discs are top notch and usually it was Hollywood which started to sell their movies on these discs in addition to DVD’s and VCD’s. The penetration of these discs is said to be good in U.S.A and U.K. While it is very low in india, as the cost of the disc and the disc players are too high. However, our producers want to try out this field too. It was bollywood which started to sell their movies on the blu-ray. And now its turn of tollywood. The producers of the movie “King” released their movie on blu-ray all over india. This is said to be the first telugu movie to get released on blu-ray. While the blu-ray of movie “Arundhati” got released all over the globe the very next week. “Arundhati” is said to be the first telugu blu-ray to get released all over the globe. And according to sources the business of these two movies on blu-ray discs is good in the overseas market. Impressed with the success story of these movies producers of the movies “Magadheera”, “Aarya 2” and “Adhurs” are already planning to release their movies on blu-ray discs, once the theatrical run of their movies get over. Seems like this new segment might turn out to be a good revenue generator for the producers.
